History

A House with History

  • image

    1974

    The Beginning

The house in "Le Petit Aumac" on the small stream Clapas was built in the mid-1970s by a farming family from the village of Darbres as a retirement home for the grandmother.

    The Summer House

After the house had been owned by the farming family for a long time, it was put up for sale at the beginning of the 1990s. A Dutch couple took the opportunity and fulfilled their dream of a summer house in Provence.

    Winter Romance

Once upon a time there was sometimes snow even in winter, so that the house could also be used for skiing holidays. Today, the historic wood-burning stove still creates a cozy, warm atmosphere on cool evenings.

    New Owner

With a heavy heart, the Dutch sold the house to Maria from Germany in October 2024 due to age. She continues the tradition and uses the house with her family for about 6 weeks a year. The rest of the time it is rented out to holiday guests.

    The Redesign

The interior is currently being lovingly and fresh redesigned as well as the bathroom renovated at the latest standard so that the house "Le Petit Aumac" can accommodate guests again from spring 2025.
